Improving Learning for Children with Disabilities (ILCD) is a special education improvement process, much like the school improvement process, which balances compliance and improvement of outcomes for children with disabilities.
A "big picture" approach organizes State Performance Plan (SPP) indicators int three impact areas
- Improving developmental outcomes and academic achievement (school readiness) for children with disabilities
- Improving communication and relationships among families,schools, communities and agencies
- Improving transitions for children with disabilities from early intervention through adult living
Nebraska Department of Education Improving Learning for Children with Disabilities regional representatives, along with the ESU Student Services team, facilitates a district Targeted Improvement Plan (TIP) process:
