Have you ever wondered how presenters are able to create those "bit.ly" things during their sessions? Lately, I've watched several presenters presenting along and they put this .bit, URL thing on the screen. I'd copy it into the address bar (I think that's what it's called) on my web-browser and up would come a document the presenter wanted us to see. WHOA. THAT WAS SLICK!!
So... I was messing with a google slide show today and wanted to link a google doc to it, but the URL was WAY TOO LONG. Guess what, that's where the bit thing comes in. There are magical sites (sorry, I don't want to advertise any one site, but if you search it will come right up) where you can copy in a long URL and it will shrink it for you. You copy the new, shortened URL and then paste it into... well... wherever you want. I felt so SMART!!
I'm sure there are many of you out there just laughing at my limited knowledge about bits, but I thought they were so handy, I wanted to share!!
