ILCD: Corrective Action Plan or Growth Action Plan

When a district has addressed any compliance issues, they will then set upon the task of developing Action Plan(s) for the improvement needs identified as part of their self-assessment. These improvement needs are not related to School Improvement activities for that year, but may be an improvement that will affect school improvement over the upcoming years.  This will provide continuous opportunities for districts to display improvement in deficient areas and growth in those areas, which strengthens schools. Special education data and accountability activities are used to monitor district performance in the self-assessment of the content and quality of its programs to improve out comes for all students.

Growth Action Plans (GAPS) should be developed so a district may support the continuous improvement process, addressing requirements, but also growing services and outcomes for all students.

For any deficiencies identified during the file review, a Corrective Action Plan (CAP) for areas of noncompliance will be developed and implemented by the Nebraska Department of Education (NDE) Regional Program Specialist and the District. The CAP must be completed, and the district brought into compliance within one year of identification of the compliance issue.
